During April 2013 fantasy football, the Vikings Adrian Peterson ranked number one, and was followed by the Texan\’s Arian Foster. Ranked third is Doug Martin from the Buccaneers, who made a jump of three spots up the ladder in the 2014 fantasy football rankings to catch up with the consistent top two leaders. In fourth place is Calvin Johnson from the Detroit Lions who also has an overall ranking of #3 best as well as #4 worst.
In the rank of #5 for the 2013 fantasy football is CJ Spiller from the Buffalo Bills, who has overall rankings of #2 best and #27 worst. This running back hails from Clemson and was drafted during the 2010. Currently ranked 1, Adrian Peterson, plays for the Vikings and is from Oklahoma University, was drafted in 2007 and is a running back. The number 2 ranked Foster of Texas has gone over 400 touches during 2012. In 2012, he finished the playoffs with a 460 total. Foster looks to be going strong still this year and has gained the second place overall. During the last season he was recorded touching the ball 475 times. Due to a predication of a rollback this year, he remains in a consistent second place. It is not sure if he is actually holding back or if the competition has just gotten better. If Foster remains healthy this season, there are good chances he can keep the higher average without creating a permanent risk to the overall statistics. During the past year, his high statistics had more to do with effort than luck. They were earned due to quantity of play instead of quality that must have resulted in a toll on his body. Regardless the quality of the athlete, to the body gives out at an average of 4.1 yards for each carry. The 400 yard goal seems somewhat cursed in running down the champions so the
2013 NFL season
may have many surprises to reveal.
Quite a bit can change between now and the fall, but there seems to be quite a few different players out there ready to make a splash at the running back position. Adrian Peterson really had a remarkable season last year, but can health be an issue in 2013? That remains to be seen, but for right now the safe bet is on him and another of the countless running backs coming off good seasons. You will be hoping to be drawn high in the draft positions to secure the services of one of these players.
